Weekly Wine review

On April 15, 2023 I had a Bogle Vineyards Chardonnay that was made in 2020 in California. The other wine I had is actually from Nassau, Bahamas and it is from the only winery in the Bahamas. These wines are very different and I first want to talk about the Chardonnay as it doesn't even compare to the Mudda Pratt Sweet Red from Nassau.

The Chardonnay was very dry, there was no sweetness to it and it was not very smooth. I have had so many Chardonnay's in my day and unfortunately I have to say that this Chardonnay was sub-par. I will say though, this specific wine was paired perfectly with the honey lemon grilled salmon I prepared. Due to its dryness, it balanced out the flavors from the roasted vegetables and sweetness from the fish. I do not think I will purchase this wine again, I did retrieve It from Kroger for roughly $10 and it definitely tasted like a $10 wine.

Moving on the prize winner, the Mudda Pratt Sweet red was fantastic, it had so many hints of strawberries and I was taken back by how sweet this red wine was. I do not believe that I have had a red wine this sweet before. I achieved this wine during my spring break, I took a cruise to Nassau Bahamas and I took an excursion that allowed for me and my group to go to the only winery on the island. The winery was very small but it they were so knowledgeable on their wine and we got to taste test a few different kinds. They had another red wine, it was a Cabernet and my boyfriend said, and I quote, "It tasted like any other Cab I've had.". Therefore we decided to get this wine since it was their specialty and it was just so sweet that I really enjoyed it. For this bottle of wine, it was only $7 and I am still taken back about how sweet it is. The hint of strawberry was very powerful and it has to be my favorite red wine that U have ever tasted.
