It's not a date without wine

Dinner Date

I did it, I branched out and had red wine. Was it as spectacular as I thought? Indeed it was. On January 18th I had a nice wine pairing with a filet mignon that my boyfriend and I prepared with a couple of friends. Since I am a white wine fanatic, of course I had to pair my steak with a Chardonnay. I'll admit that I tried both of these wine with dinner and the Cabernet Sauvignon was exceptional. Over these past few weeks I have tried a selection of red wines and this one was phenomenal. The name in question is, Three Thieves 2019 California Republic. The wine was smooth and delicate with the filet and it even added a certain aspect to it that I wasn't sure was possible. Other then the Cabernet, I also tried a Sutter Home Chardonnay. Although a Chardonnay is my preferred choice, I have to say that with the dinner that was prepared, the Cabernet Sauvignon was way more appropriate with the occasion and added an element that the Chardonnay could not replicate. I have inserted these lovely photos that were taken. Created in Napa Valley, Three Thieves is a oaky and flavorful wine. Although this wine was delectable, I am excited to try other brands, especially Chateau Lafite Rothschild, in Bordeaux, France.

The Chardonnay that I had picked out was purchased at your local Kroger. It is based in St. Helena, CA at the Sutter Home Winery. I found out as well that Sutter Home Winery was the creation for the White Zinfandel. Known for their sweeter and lighter wines, Sutter Homes is an excellent choice to make if you want to enjoy a sweeter wine.
